More than 25 years’ experience in teaching graduate and undergraduate level courses and mentoring graduate students, namely in the areas of Microbiology, Public health and Management Systems (ISO 9001; ISO 14001; ISO 45001; ISO 2220; ISO 17025, ISO 15189). . Supervised master’s theses, member of juries of doctoral exams, master's degrees, and specialist title assignments. . Special interest in food and water safety/hygiene with due emphasis on food and water microbiology; foodborne and waterborne pathogens, antimicrobials, spoilage, HACCP and sanitation. . Impact of the latter on food and water quality, occupational health and public health are aspects of interest within one health approach. . Held various positions, namely: Head of the School of Technology and Management (ESTG-IPVC), Quality manager of UMA (ISO 17025) ; Quality Manager of ESTG-IPVC (ISO 9001), Coordinator of the master’s Course in Laboratory Quality Management, Occupational Safety and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Consulting and Food Auditing. . Published articles in scientific journals and book chapters. . Several communications in international scientific meetings. . Participation in several R&D projects.
