Siamak Seyfi is an Assistant Professor at the Geography Research Unit of the University of Oulu. Using an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach, his research stems from an interest in geography of tourism and more particularly, tourism geopolitics, tourism mobilities, political consumerism as well as qualitative sociological/ethnographic research methods in tourism. His recent research focuses on the contextual applications of resilience theory in tourism, and more particularly adaptive mechanisms of destinations and businesses facing crises, sanctions, and boycotts. He has co-authored Tourism, Sanctions and Boycotts (2020, Routledge), co-edited Cultural and Heritage Tourism in the Middle East and North Africa (2020, Routledge), Tourism in Iran: Challenges, Development, and Issues (2018, Routledge) and Muslim Travel Cultures and Consumer Behaviours: Contemporary Practices, Complexities and Emerging Issues (2021, Routledge). Siamak is an editorial board of several journals including Journal of Heritage Tourism, International Journal of Tourism Cities and Visions in Leisure and Business. He is also an active reviewer for several top-tier journals.
