Prof. Marcelo Kogan is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He
holds a degree in Biochemistry and Pharmacy from the University of
Buenos Aires and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the same
university. He conducted his postdoctoral research at the Institute of
Biomedical Research in Barcelona in the field of peptides and
nanotechnology. He is a Full Professor in the Department of
Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the
University of Chile and Principal Investigator at the Advanced Center
for Chronic Diseases (ACCDiS). His interest focuses on the
applications of nanobiomaterials and peptides in biomedicine for
the diagnosis and treatment of conformational diseases, including
drug formulation, Alzheimer's disease, cancer, and cardiovascular
disease.
