Dr. Mahmoud Abdelaziz Mabrok is an Assistant Professor of Fish Diseases and Management at Suez Canal University, Egypt. As a senior postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Microbiology, Fish Infectious Diseases, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand (2018-2022), he has conducted extensive research. His academic journey includes earning a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Porto, Portugal (2013-2016). Dr. Mabrok's primary focus lies in the development of innovative diagnostic tools such as PCR, qPCR, and RPA-LFD isothermal amplification for the rapid and precise detection of pathogens, particularly in aquatic species. His research extends to the identification of multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacterial strains affecting animal hosts, addressing this emerging concern and its implications for public health. Additionally, Dr. Mabrok is dedicated to exploring alternative remedies for disease control and treatment of infectious diseases. He explores eco-friendly active ingredients, including herbal extracts, prebiotics, probiotics, and synbiotics. His recent research emphasis involves studying host-pathogen interactions, specifically investigating host innate and/or adaptive immunity to counter bacterial infections. Currently, he holds various academic and non-academic positions, including serving as an Assistant Professor of Bacteriology and Mycology at King Salman International University, Egypt (2022). He is also an Academic Peerlist at Airlangga University, actively participating in the annual QS Global Academic Survey. Additionally, he serves as the Academician-Secretary of the Department of "IMMUNOLOGY" (98) at the International Mariinskaya Academy named after M.D. Shapovalenko. Furthermore, he is the Director of the Marine Fish Diseases and Treatment Lab for the MADE project in Portsaid, Egypt. He plays a key role as a Managing Member and Consultant at Agrimatic Aquaponic Farm, while also holding the position of Marine Biologist at HITS Company. Additionally, he provides consultancy for national projects, particularly in the field of fish farming in the eastern region of the Suez Canal. He has also been honored with several prestigious awards, including: State Encouragement Award in Advanced Technological Sciences for 2023, Best applied research Award, Suez Canal University 2021, Research Excellence Award in international publishing Suez Canal University 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, Best Senior Postdoctoral researcher (4 T1 journals in per year 2020) Chulalongkorn University, and Best Oral presentation, Animal Science Doctoral Programme, University of Porto, Portugal 2016. He is an expert, has many international publications in the field of Fish diseases, Microbiology and Immunology, and currently work as academic editors for PLOS ONE, USA, BMC Research Note Springer Nature, Journal Of Marine Science Hindawy Group. He also appointed as Guest Editorial Board in Frontiers in Bioscience, International Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Research. Reviewer Editor in Frontiers in Microbiology.
