Keun Ho Ryu

Keun Ho Ryu is a Professor Emeritus, Endowed Chair Researcher, and Invited Professor at Chungbuk National University in Korea. He also serves as a Professor at the Faculty of Information Technology at Ton Duc Thang University in Vietnam and as an Adjunct Professor at the Biomedical Engineering Institute at Chiang Mai University in Thailand. Since 1986, he has been the director of the Database and Bioinformatics Laboratory at Chungbuk National University, Korea, and since March 1, 2019, the director of the Data Science Laboratory at Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam. He has been a professor in the Department of Computer Science, College of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Chungbuk National University, Korea from 1986 to 2019. He also served as Vice President of the Personalized Tumor Engineering Research Center. Keun Ho Ryu received Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering from Yonsei University in 1988 in the Republic of Korea and an Honorary Doctorate in Information and Computer Science from the National University of Mongolia in 2012. He served as a captain in the Korean Army for four years as part of ROTC. He has worked at the University of Arizona as a Post-doc and Research Scientist in the USA and at the Electronics & Telecommunications Research Institute in the Republic of Korea as a Senior Researcher. He has been a member of numerous program committees, including serving as a Demonstration Co-chair of VLDB, a Panel and Tutorial Co-chair of APWeb, and a General Co-chair of FITAT. Keun Ho Ryu has published over 1000 refereed technical articles in various journals, international conferences, and books. His research interests include databases, temporal databases, spatiotemporal databases, temporal GIS, stream data processing, knowledge-based information retrieval, database security, data mining, deep learning, bioinformatics, and biomedical informatics. He is currently a Life Member of IEEE and has been a member of IEEE since 1982 and ACM since 1983. He is the co-founder of the International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology, Applications, and Tools (FITAT) and has been managing FITAT since 2007.
