I am Hailay A Gesesew, an Associate Professor and NHMRC Principal Research Fellow at Torrens University Australia. Having BSc in Public Health Officer, MPH in Epidemiology and PhD in Public Health, I have been working as an academician and clinician. My research projects and their outputs address public health policy gaps, with a focus on understanding health inequity to improve outcomes for pressing health problems such as HIV, other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), mental illness, One Health and conflict & health. I am interested in marginalized population such as refugee and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations. Currently, I am leading a five-year RCT project on a peer-led HIV care in Ethiopia to improve HIV care outcomes.
